In an article published on Business Insider, the article gives readers and travel enthusiasts an insight into the 30 most visited cities of the 2017. Ranking the lists top three were Bangkok, Thailand, London UK, and Paris, France.

#1Bangkok, Thailand

By the end of 2017, Thailand's capital city Bangkok received more than 20.2 million international visitors. The city is known for its vibrant colors and street life and ornate shrines and buildings. The city is most known for their famous sex tourism, which brings in most of their tourism revenue. 

Typical cost to travel to Thailand

$1 USD = 34 THB (Thai Baht)

Traveling to Thailand for three weeks is seemingly inexpensive, and would require:

  • Accommodations $15- Basic Accommodations

  • Food $12- Three meals a day (plus alcohol)

  • Transportation $21- Includes domestic flights

  • Attractions $10- Can vary

Total $58 USD per day- $1,218 for three weeks  

London Eye

#2 London, UK 

The capital of England and the United Kingdom is a city filled with history stretching back thousands of years, in 2017, London grossed in 20 million international visitors. London is also the capital of the British Monarch. The city is boasting with historical sites and buildings. 

Typical cost to travel to London

1 GBP= $1.40 USD

Accommodations- backpacker hotels can range from $12-24 per person per night, while luxury hotels can range from luxury hotels can cost more than $300 per night 

Food and Beverage pubs and cafes generally offer the best value for money ranging between $10 and $25. Three course meals can cost more than $180

Transportation public transportation is the best way to get around, and mostly recommended. A single fare can cost $5, or a one day travel pass, which can cost $16

#3 Paris, France 

Paris, Franc; Eiffel Tower

Most famously considered the city of love, Paris is major European city and also a global center for art, fashion, gastronomy and culture. Paris is also considered both the fashion and art empire of the world because it is home to some of the biggest names in Haute Couture and Art. The city is boasting with culture and is probably always at the top of everyone's "Places to travel before I die list." In 2017, 16.1 international visitors visited the prestigious city.

1 Euro= $1.23 USD 

Traveling to Paris can range from anywhere around $800-$15,000 depending on the class and time of year flight is booked

Accommodations- hotels can range from $200 to $1,331 depending on the type of hotel and services offered 

Food & Beverage in Paris, food is a part of culture, and they are known for their fine cuisine. Breakfast can range from $8-$15. Lunch can cost around $22-$25 per person. Dinner can run from around $100-$300+ per person if you dine at a luxury restaurant.
